Chinese Chef's Knife + Workshop with Celestial Peach
Join us for a special Chinese Chef’s Knife workshop led by Jenny Lau, food writer and creator behind Celestial Peach! Together, we’ll explore the beauty, history, and everyday joy of cooking with one of China’s most iconic kitchen tools — the Chinese Chef’s Knife.
What to expect
Curious about how to get the most out of your Chinese Chef’s Knife? Jenny will guide you through the essentials — from safe handling and grip, to slicing, dicing, mincing, and smashing.
We’ll put those skills into practice as we prepare and enjoy two comforting home-style dishes together, Dongbei cold noodles and chrysanthemum tofu soup.
At Fragrant Knives, we believe that food brings people together — across tables, cultures, and generations. This workshop is our way of celebrating Chinese craft and community, and sharing the culture that inspires every knife we make. It’s a relaxed, hands-on session designed to help you feel more at home with your knife — and to celebrate the traditions and stories that make Chinese cooking so special.
Where and when
Tuesday 25 November, 6.30-8pm.
ESEA Community Centre, 12-14 Englefield Road, N1 4LS.
